Mass ARML has teams for HMMT at Harvard on November 8, 2025 and for HMMT at MIT on February 14, 2026. You must be a member of Mass ARML. Use this link to sign up there will be more paperwork. You also need to send me your username (HMMT.org) so I can invite you to the team... then you need to accept my invitation.
We have had a team accepted to PUMAC (Division A) on Saturday, November 22.
Historically, the cost is close to $100 with hotel and potentially transportation.
I need to get the team signed up soon, and I need to know if your parent(s) can help.with transportation. Lexington is willing to share the bus with us.... Sign up in the google classroom, if you are interested! Being on the team does mean putting in a good faith effort to work on the Power Round.
I would appreciate one or two parents to also attend as a chaperone if possible. So the cost is estimated at about $100/student including bus, and lodging at a hotel... We will stay at the same hotel as Lexington.
You must be registered for Mass ARML and you must be a paid member!
Currently, there is one position available.
This is a hard competition! (But Princeton is beautiful!)

Contest Format
Contest RoundsThe contest consists of four rounds: Individual, Team, Tiebreaker, and Guts.
Individual Round: Individuals will have 75 minutes to solve 12 problems!
Team Round: Teams of up to 6 will have 45 minutes to solve 12 problems!
Tiebreaker Round: Individuals tied for 12th or above in the Individual Round will solve 2-3 problems in 10 minutes to determine the top competitors!
Guts Round: The Guts round is a 27-question, 60-minute test. Problems are given in sets of 3, and each set is provided only after the previous set has been submitted.
ScoringFor individual placements, scoring is 1 point per question, with ties broken by the highest problem number solved. If there are still ties after that, individuals tied will participate in the tiebreaker round. Ties will then be broken by number of problems solved on the tiebreaker round, followed by time taken to submit the tiebreaker round.
For team placements, scoring is as follows:
1 point per individual round problem, summed over all team members
6 points per team round problem
For teams of 5, individual round scores are multiplied by 6/5, and for teams of 4 or fewer, individual round scores are multiplied by 6/4. Having a smaller team does not put you at a significant disadvantage in terms of the composite individual score (but may naturally make the team round more difficult).
Formally, if a team solves n total individual round problems, m team round problems, and has k team members, their total team score is .
For the team round, ties will first be broken by team round score and then by highest problem number solved on the team round.
