I have not decided on a career to pursue, but the field of study that interests me right now is computer engineering. The person who made me interested in computer engineering was my dad. My dad used to make computers and I always thought that was cool. I used to watch him open up game systems and computers, and I was always fascinated by all of the things inside of the computers. He's very smart when it comes to networking/computer things, and that kind of made me interested in the things he does.I
I am currently in a 2 year engineering class in high school at the Dr.James A. Forrest Career and Technology Center, which will definitely help me get into my desired field, that field being computer engineering. Back in 8th grade, I took computer science in 8th grade, Geometry honors in 9th grade, Algebra 2 in 10th grade, and currently, I am taking Pre Calculus. All of these classes will help me advance in my career choice of computer engineering. Most likely in the tech center, I will learn a lot of useful information that could help me towards my career goal.
I have participated in track and cross country since freshman year. If those sports have taught me anything, it's to always chase after your goals no matter how hard you think they may be. I used to be really bad at the 800 meter run, and after a bunch of times doing it and telling myself that I could get better at it, I dropped my time from a 2:50 from freshman year to a 2:14 my sophomore year. It's important to have goals because they help us develop as a person.
Upon graduation from high school, my plan is to attend a four year college. I wanna go to a four year college because I've been to my brother's campus and it seems like it would be a very fun time. The dorms seem cozy looking and it is a nice looking place. He went to Towson University which is where I want to go. I like the feel of the campus and everything about it. I also wanna go to college to be like my mom and brother, who of course both went to Towson.
Once I reach my career goal, I will affect the community I live in because I plan to work on computers, which are used in everyday life. Computers are used in everyday life in schools and work places. My impact on the world will overall be positive and will not just affect a small amount of people, but a large amount of people in the world.
