Quantitative Analysis of Phytocannabinoids
Quantitative Analysis of Phytocannabinoids
Quantitative analyses of phytocannabinoids in plants and cannabis preparations were carried out using the Dionex Ultimate 3000 RS HPLC which consisted of a quaternary pump, autosampler, column department, and diode-array detector. Analytes were separated on Acclaim C18 column (250 × 3 mm, 3 µm, Dionex) using acetonitrile/water with 0.1% acetic acid gradient.
At present analysis of cannabis products is not offered by TSABAM. Due to unreasonable bureaucratic requests of Israeli government institutions (YAKAR), we did not renew the annual license for work with cannabis. Though, it can be discussed for large projects.
HPLC-UV chromatogram of eight cannabinoids.
Quantitative analysis of phytocannabinoids using HPLC-UV is both, sensitive and accurate over a wide dynamic range.
Cannabidiol (CBD) unless other phytocannabinoids can be crystallized. Crystallization is an effective way for purification of chemical compounds.
