HISTORY
We are few people of Muslim community from Santa Cruz living in Goa India
since Portuguese regime that is before 1961
There was no masjid in our Santa Cruz village and we had to travel in city for 5 times prayers
and Friday prayers which is 4 kms one way and only masjid in city called Jumma masjid.
Our trustee is business owner of Ashrafi meat shop Mr. Dastagir Sab Bepari also known as
Xec Dasquir Sab is running business on highway junction 17 started taraweeh prayers once
in a year in the month of Ramadan in his house than after few years he bought a property
next to his shop, his old shop was demolished to construct highway road 17 than he built
shop in his new property and than we started praying on shop above floor slab than we
started 5 times prayers the roof was made of plastic sheet and wooden poles than he
decided to donate above area to built a masjid area around 150 sq. Mtr.
We formed a committee and started collecting fund for construction slowly in few years we
built one floor and we registered our committee as Anjuman Ahle Sunnat Islahul Muslimeen
Society in 2003 than further we kept extending to second floor and a last 3rd floor.
Our community is mostly lower class around 60% middle class 15% higher class 5% and
rest 20% is working abroad and business travelers and working in other cities.
Our monthly expenses is high and incoming is low which is collected through public in
account of Friday collection monthly collection donations etc.
In the year 2014 we registered our committee as trust in the name Anjuman Ahle Sunnat
Islahul Muslimeen Trust and we decided to keep trustee as chairman for life time and
thereafter his nominee great grand son master Mohamad Shabaz Bepari.
