When I saw this sticker the first time I felt inspired to make my own version of it.
Imagine we could have a say in what we really need to stop doing as a human race, when
I am talking about this I address enviornmental pollution, exploitation of natural resources and animal extinction which is due to deforestation and animals being seen as profit.
Another thing I am very concerned about is that people get killed from protecting the environment, according to records from the Global Witness, 1,738 people described as environmental defenders were killed between 2002 and 2018, across 50 countries.
Even young children talk about this but when are we taking this seriously, does it need to be sold to us like the vaccine until this topic becomes mandatory too? Because I can count down many events around the world where people died because of environmental disasters and hunger.
We need this planet and it's not all for grabs and sale, we are in danger by thinking we need to save the planet we need to save ourselfs.

The idea is environmental education every day.
My effort is to reduce, reuse and recycle because it's my responsibility and my carbon foot print. I try to be as simple as it gets with art supplies and I am doing this with reusing scrap paper and card board for pictures.
I really like the way it looks because it has character, each frame get's it's individual color so it blends right in with the picture it self.
I have been doing sketchbooks out of recycling paper since 2009, I was drawing everyday for hours because I wanted to get into one of the best animation schools in Toronto Sheridan College. One of those regular sketchbooks was full in a few weeks, so I decided to do my own.
Coil recycling papers sketchbooks is the way to go!
This card is charged with emotions, 2008 when I arrived in Canada I realzing that Canada isn't the most sustainable country. I was very sad that they only one day for this wonderful planet which goes down the drain for that very reason. So let's do environmental education every day.

This card is trying to convey that you’re not just saving something external and ignoring it—NO, you are saving yourself and future generations. By taking action, you can help prevent an even deadlier EnvironMental Pandemic.
Reading Saving the Planet doesn’t fully communicate the urgency of this crisis. According to this article, more people are dying from environmental issues than ever died from the pandemic. (Click here to read more.)
This picture was healing for me—I was able to express my anger and pain at how we are still just talking about these issues instead of taking real action. The pandemic showed me that when money is involved, the corporate world can act overnight in the name of short-term profit to put things in order.
Haven’t all previous viruses come from animal farming? They told us that COVID-19 was transmitted to humans because some people ate bats, right?
Anyway, I could go on, but I encourage you to watch Vegan 2020. This film explains how your food choices are directly connected to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Those pictures come from an animation created to teach children what we are doing and how it is harmful to us. I simply showed them the animation and asked them what they see and what they think this is. After that I asked them what they think might happen next thinking about their own evolution.
The next animation seperated us from nature, the toxic symbole is now flowing around. Now I asked them questions about sustainability and what it means to them to be sustainable and why consumers play a big role in this.
The last image shows the end of the animation, before you saw only the dollar sign and the people on the planet. This was an important moment for me to realize that even a 5 year old knew that life is more worth than money.
Which is why I created this workshop in order to educate the next generation. The problem is that if living things such as animals and plants become commodity and extracted from an ECO system which depends on it's animals and plants in order to keep it balanced, that's when it's a matter of time for the ECO system to break down.
Our environment is a commodity, exploitation is given not just from our natural habitats. But from people still living in sync with their environment and animals.

I created this image after my trip to Peru coming back to Toronto, suddently I was very intimidated by such a big city. I could feel it so much stronger with my senses being tuned in again after 6 month in the jungle.

I used this image for my after school program where I addresed environmental issues. This was done before covid-19.

This word in play has "mental" is in environmental which became "EnvironMental." The image expresses it all, as you can see there is no C19 virus in there because I think the environmental pollution/ short term profit are a way bigger threat to humanity than the virus.
I feel guilty of being human sometimes, the virus could be the solution for the problem "MotherEarth" has with us since industrialization. I am part of if even thou I am trying to not buy so much packeged stuff, don't drive a car, don't eat meat etc. I never have plastic bags, or litter in the forest, on the beach. We are so disconnected, our mental health seems so bad that it effects environmental health. Both I believe are connected.
This is a much later version of the Exploitation image which I did when most of the cities had a lock down. The main problem is short term profit, long term damage.
This is a personal picture, my intention is to point to the even greater risks of:
Polluting oceans and the land
Deforestation
Mining
Poisoning our food and water resources
Polluting the air with CO2 from our transportation and animal farms
Chopping down the Amazon forest for cattle farming and wood for furniture
Creating more plastic products which are not biodegradable
We are at much greater risks of poisoning our self than going extinct, it's really us who have to make smart choices. The consumers are more powerful than ever, every purchase is a VOTE for a more or less waste on earth. We have to take responsible instead of pointing at others, your purchase is a VOTE for a more sustainable life style. If that's done by, having always a reusable bag with you, by taking public transportation, not littering on the beach and in the forest or by changing having plant based meals!

The thermometer is popping forward to increases.
I remember the long summer nights when I lived in Berlin working on this animation, I was tired of seeing how demands from the public or political parties where rejected to create stricter guidelines for lobbies who simply see nature as a commodity not a living being.
I am working on getting the animation into movie format since they are done in flash, to be available on youtube soon.
