PROFILE

茶谷昌宏

Masahiro Chatani PhD

My motivation for science began with the question of how organisms have adapted to the Earth's environment. Using medaka fish as a model animal, I have focused on bone-dissolving cells called osteoclasts to study bone development and regeneration, and also participated in the projects using the International Space Station to study the effects of gravity. From July 2021, as a visiting scientist at the Stainier Lab, I am studying the origin of the circulatory system using medaka fish.
