Team MASA is comprised of five University of Waterloo Mechatronics Engineering undergraduate students. Across us we have worked at eight large international technology companies, including Google, Apple, NVIDIA, and Tesla. We have worked on real-world products at the forefront of technology, including but not limited to spaces such as autonomous cars and AI. Each of us has specialties in software, controls, electrical and mechanical, and work collaboratively to innovate the best solution possible. With MASA, we hope to bring together our experiences to make something spectacular ourselves.
Team MASA goes beyond stellar work and project experience as we are great friends as well. This is evidenced by our spontaneous but purposeful outings, strengthening both our friendship and teamwork. Check out where we’ve been on our Support Us page.

FYDP (aka Final Year Design Project) is an undertaking for all senior engineering students at UWaterloo. It is the magnum opus of all the projects we have experienced as students, where we apply all that we have learned in the classroom and workplace to create our own innovations over the course of 6 short months.
As Mechatronics students, our capstone design project requires us to build something that as our program suggests, is representative of mechatronics. This involves integrating sensors, actuators, mechanical design, and more. For examples of previous years’ projects, click here.
The finale of our project is at the Mechatronics Capstone Design Project Symposium, taking place at the Davis Centre on UW campus. The symposium date is currently set for March 15, 2019; more information can be found here.
