Article 7 of the MSC Bylaws grants any former member of the Board of Directors or Senior Associate Group the right to petition for membership to the Board of Advisors ("BOA"). Upon a favorable vote by the incumbent Board of Directors, they will be formally appointed to a seat on the BOA. The BOA is responsible for coordinating with the legislative efforts of the MSC. The BOA may be called upon to provide an advisory opinion on a matter before the Board. The BOA also serves a critical role in personnel hiring and appeals--holding a majority of seats on the panel. 

Members of the BOA who formerly served as a member of the Board of Directors will be recognized as a “Director Emeritus."

Members of the BOA who formerly served as a Senior Associate of the MSC will be recognized as an “Advisor."
