I am Mary Ann Majo pursuing my PhD in English and Cultural Studies from Christ (Deemed to Be University), Bangalore. I had always had an interest in Children's Narratives, be it books, movies, or cartoons which gave me a sense of belonging and intrigued my interest in the various nuances that were deemed to be kept away from children. I let my interest in this field control the research initiatives that led me to bear fruit through the making of this portfolio and the works present in it. The project helped me develop my interest and research in the field of Children's narratives and how children would and could engage with these texts through a pedagogy that would be structured through films in an educational background. It also nourished my love for films from an academic perspective. The portfolio encompasses works that cater to children's narratives as well as the world of cinema and critical analysis.
I am currently working on "Analysing 'Sleep' in the works of Mike Flanagan within the Horror Genre: Understanding the Cultural and Trauma-induced Dynamics of Sleep and the Lack of Sleep".
