Week 3 Log: The Iron Man Arc Reactor

Project Status: ✅ Completed | Focus: 3D CAD Modeling & Fusion 360

Project Overview

For this week's challenge, the mission was to design a "Super Power Weapon" using Autodesk Fusion 360. I chose to engineer the iconic Iron Man Arc Reactor, reimagined as a standalone energy projection unit.

This was technically the most demanding task so far. It required moving beyond simple 2D sketches into complex 3D form factors. "I sat down to draw a simple polygon. I stood up with a weapon of mass destruction."

The Design Process: From Sketch to Solid

The workflow followed a strict CAD methodology to ensure the geometry was clean and editable.

1. Base Geometry (The Polygon)

Origin: I started on the XY plane with a simple Polygon Sketch.
Constraint: This defined the central core of the reactor, serving as the anchor for all subsequent features.

This was the very first step

2. Solid Modeling (Extrusion & Revolve)

Volume: Using the Revolve tool, I pulled the 2D sketches into 3D space to create the housing ring.
Detailing: I applied Fillets and Chamfers to the edges to give it that machined, industrial look characteristic of Tony Stark's technology.
