A budding journalist from London. Maryam Ali tells stories across different platforms. Trained in media law, she is acutely aware of how to tackle stories lawfully and ethically. Her ideal role is to be a multi-hyphenate. She is not afraid to take risks and explore the world bit by bit.
She completed a BJTC-accredited master's from the University of Sheffield in broadcast journalism. She enjoyed exploring the South Yorkshire patch and finding regional stories that highlight people's experiences. Additionally, she is studying towards completing the NCTJ diploma.
Over the summer, she finished work experience with ITN (5 News), Global (Capital/Heart) and Bauer (Hits Radio). Maryam shadowed reporters at court, booked guests, and learnt how different newsrooms work across the country. She applied her news reporting skills by conducting interviews, writing cues, and editing on editing software like Burli.
