Teaching
I'm a senior fellow of the higher education academy. At Cass Business School and Lancaster University I have taught at both the undergraduate and post-graduate levels. My teaching philosophy is to bridge the gap between theory and practice. Subjects taught include economics (micro + macro), financial economics and financial econometrics (applied + theory). I have also taken responsibility for conducting tutorial labs for the software packages such as E-views, STATA, and S-plus.
I have supervised over 60 MSc dissertations and 12 PhD dissertations successfully to completion. I currently supervise/co-supervise 6 PhD students in areas relating to banking, efficiency and productivity measurement and modelling, and forecasting using high frequency data. I have also acted as internal/external examiner for a number of PhD vivas. I'm also an external examiner for a number of top UK universities and academic institutions.
As part of the GOLCER research unit, I have developed and delivered executive training events in Nigeria, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Jordan. I'm also a senior training consultant at Timberlake Consultant U.K. and regularly contributes to their course design and training agenda.
