The lectures were intriguing and informative. In robotics I learned about computer components such as the operating system. I also learned the components of the EV3 brick. In biophysics, I learned about the importance of temperature and how it impacts the behavior of molecules as well as energy transfer.

When working with my robot, I realized that the robot was inconsistent due to friction. On the activity 4, the robot wouldn't turn a full 90 degrees all the time. The build up of error caused the robot to veer off of the square more and more each turn.

My phone camera has 12 megapixels. 10,000 dollars in 1987 would be about 27,000 dollars today

Bias occurs when the results are clustered due to judgment error. Noise occurs when the results are widely scattered due to random factors.

The critique process is an extremely important part of the design process. Getting feedback from multiple perspectives is very helpful in coming up with solutions or adding new features. Some suggestions I have received include adding an autoloader to the catapult or using different kinds of projectiles.

Dr. Koehl's presentation was very interesting. Rather than simply discussing the experiment and the results, she talked about the entire process beginning to end. It was nice to learn about the experimental design process and the questions they asked along the way to guide their experimentation. I also learned about that her research could be used by the navy to prevent barnacles from attaching to ship hulls and to disable mines.

From this program I learned
To take critiques and feedback from others
To ask for help whenever I need it
To always look for better solutions when solving problems
