Have you been racially discrimanated or know of someones experience with racial discrimination? This is a major issue that some would like to talk more about and others would like to keep on the back burner of not being that important. I noticed the lack of importance when I came across many statistics on how African Americans have a higher rate of disease and are actually dying from it. Why is this an issue you might say. It might not seem like something to talk more about to some people because they could care less,as some would say”we all have to die one day”. But can some of these deaths be prevented? Can the cause of certain diseases be prevented? The real question I would like to explore is why do African Americans seem to get sick and die more often than other ethnicities? What can we do as a community to solve this problem? Has this problem been acknowledged by the government and healthcare officials? I'll explore this topic and find out the cause and the solution in others' opinions. This issue is personal to me as I have family members and friends that suffer from the same diseases and all seem to get the same answers regardless of personal fitness, family background, or financial status.
