I am a researcher in the area "Inequality and Public Policy" and academic coordinator at ZEW – Leibniz-Center for European Economic Research in Mannheim.
My research is at the intersection of public, labor, and urban economics. I currentyl work on inequality, migration, social policy in the German and European context.
As coordinator for graduate studies at ZEW, I organize the graduate training of our doctoral students. As part of this, we offer yearly summer courses in cooperation with the Center for Doctoral studies in Economics (CDSE) at the University of Mannheim.
I recantly acquired a Horizon Europe Grant on "Welfare systems and labour market policies for economic and social resilience in Europe (WeLaR)" and will continue to work on migration, social policy, and new forms of employment.
Since 2019, I teach courses in statistics for business students, research methods, and introduction to data science.
As I got married in 2022, you will find my "older" publication under the name Martin Ungerer.
