Martina Vanelli

I am a Ph.D. student at Department of Mathematical Sciences, Politecnico di Torino, supervised by Prof. Giacomo Como and Prof. Fabio Fagnani. My PhD project, titled Learning and Optimization in Large-Scale Systems, is supported by DISMA – Department of Excellence 2018‐2022 and Machine Learning Reply.

My research interests lie among game theory, network systems and machine learning with a special attention to the applications in power systems. I am currently studying game theoretic models for electricity markets. Alongside, I am developing forecasting algorithms for the optimal operation of energy systems with large penetration of renewable generation sources, such as wind and solar.

I am also interested in network games and evolutionary dynamics. During my Master Thesis, I studied existence and characterization of Nash equilibria in network games with coordinating and anti-coordinating agents.
