I’m Yung-Chang Hsu.

Current affiliation: 

I am a postdoctoral researcher at Rutgers University under Professor Mariusz Mirek's mentorship. 

I obtained my Ph.D. in mathematics at Purdue University in May 2026 under the supervision of Professor Victor Lie. 

Personal interest:

I started as a math and music enthusiast. To me, understanding the time-frequency phase portrait of a mathematical object is akin to analyzing the score of a musical composition.

This realization led me to choose the path of time-frequency/wave-packet analysis, a subfield of harmonic analysis, to start my academic career.

I’m also interested in any other related fields of study. (e.g. P.D.E., geometric measure theory, ergodic theory, or even machine learning.)
