About Martha Day

You’ve probably come across Martina Magionami or La Marti (@lamartimusic) already: after traveling and sharing her music abroad she decided to create a new side project (Martha Day) with all songs in English and deeper country folk approach and influences.

Besides La Marti's Italian repertoire and some other songs in English, she's also collaborated with musician friend Peter Dulborough in a new musical theatre project inspired by 'The Little Prince' called 'The Music of the Stars' and other projects such as 'From Afar' single and 'Touch' Ep. She also co-wrote 'The Virgin’s Fountain' with Danish-Norwegian musician Nanne-Emelie Andersen in 2022. Furthermore she released the short song 'One place in mind', commissioned in 2020 by Taiwanese video maker Katie Lee for a new project (unfortunately it was never completed due to COVID difficult times and the following passing of Katie).

Her next release, a 9 track album called 'Things in Life', will be out in September 2026. With this project she aims to spread her music internationally and hopefully start new collaborations.

Her most recent and remarkable performances were: Openstage/ Internet Festival (Pisa, 2025), Stadtklangs's Spotlight Sessions (Florence, 2025), Stradarte Busking Festival (Galliano nel Mugello – Florence, July 2025+2026), the San Carlo Buskers Festival (San Carlo-San Vincenzo – Livorno, April 2024), the Music for the Body Tour by Tezenis & Openstage on Via Calzaiuoli (Florence, 2024) and also Sofar Sounds Italy (Prato, June 2022 and June 2025).

In August 2024 she performed in Ireland, especially in Dublin and Galway, for some solo acoustic opening acts, busking, open mic events and jam sessions (Grafton Street, St Stephen's Green, Fibber Magees, Sin É, Roisin Dubh and Ol'55 Pub).
