"One More Night" is a song performed by American pop rock band Maroon 5. The song was released on June 19, 2012, as the second single from their fourth studio album Overexposed (2012). It was written by Adam Levine, Shellback, Max Martin, and Savan Kotecha, while production was handled by Shellback and Martin. It is a reggae-influenced pop song. Lyrically, it talks about not getting along with someone and hoping he only stays with her just "one more night". It is built upon the idea that the heart, mind, and body usually want opposing things.

The song's lyrics are about a man who feels guilty about staying in a relationship only for sex.[5] The chorus finds Levine bewitched by someone he knows he shouldn't be with: "So I cross my heart and I hope to die / That I'll only stay with you one more night / And I know I said it a million times / But I'll only stay with you one more night."[6]

The song received mixed reviews from music critics. Bill Lamb of About.com gave the song four out of five stars, praising "the catchy reggae-drenched musical production" and "Adam Levine's confident pop vocals".[7] However, he wrote: "Adam Levine's singing about being guilt-ridden over his part in relationship hell above a sunny musical production is feeling somewhat like formula. However, for now, enjoy the song's simple charms, and there will be much more to examine when the album Overexposed hits stores."[7] Robert Copsey of Digital Spy called it "a bouncy, reggae-flecked midtempo with a chorus that feels reassuringly familiar."[8]

After the success of "Payphone", the band announced that "One More Night" was going to be released as the second single from Overexposed on June 19, 2012. On May 18, 2012, the band premiered the song at the Revel Casino and Hotel in Atlantic City, New Jersey. Speaking to VH1, Levine said that "'One More Night' was one of the songs that was more far along when we heard it ... Shellback, who did 'Moves Like Jagger' with us, it was one of those things that the instant we heard it as a group, we thought, 'Wow.'"

Here's your early serving of a Maroon 5 dish, complete with appetizers and dessert. Vevo has just released the much awaited and yet again destructive music video of One More Night by Maroon 5. Much like the music video for Payphone, One More Night showcases a little of Adam Levine's acting and all.

Thank goodness Maroon 5 has somehow focused on the Pop genre, because honestly their alternative songs mostly sucked especially on their Hands All Over album. Hopefully they will continue on creating songs like this and none of the bullshit that most of the times makes me cringe.

Could you relate with this love drama featured in One More Night music video:

All love story starts out well until such a time that the infatuation dies out as lectured to us by John Legend's Ordinary People: "This ain't the honeymoon, Past the infatuation phase..." Only the difference in this one and Maroon 5's version on being fed up over a relationship is she's not waiting to see her lover go down. One last chance and that's it. Is it just me or is this really coincidentally timing with Adam's breaking up with Anne V?

Directed by famous film helmer Peter Berg, One More Night premiered over MTV and was followed by a 30-minute live chat with the band's front liner, Adam Levine. This music video was filmed on April 20, 2012 together with Mink Kelly, playing as the singers's lover in the video.

The sad part here is one of them is not really willing to forgo one's dream over the relationship, forcing the other half of the love story be fed up and discontented. That is sometimes hard to see especially if one's dream is more important than one's loved ones. Because of this the affected party has to do bad things. And this is what Mink has to say about that: "I play a heartbreaker, I guess. I do very bad things... but necessary."

Well, maybe the morale of this story is to balance every aspect of your life that none of these parts may feel a little left out, aggravated or unfair. Jealousy is normal: much more a jealousy with a foundation. That's just about it: Balance every thing. Only, I have to say that the girl is a little bit short of understanding...

On a different note, Adam Levine is certainly gearing up his acting in this music video, especially after we heard he's gonna play a major role in a musical hollywood movie called A Song Can Save Your Life? together with veteran actress Keira Knightley.

I think that It's the relationship between the lead and his girlfriend (maybe ex){You and I go hard at each other like we're going to warYou and I go rough, we keep throwing things and slamming the doorYou and I get so damn dysfunctional, we start keeping scoreYou and I get sick, yeah I know that we can't do this no more}They keep on fighting and fighting, so much that they start to keep score, the hatred is getting so bad that he KNOWS that soon he's going to have to cut his losses and leave{But baby there you go again, there you go again, making me love youYeah I stopped using my head, using my head, let it all goGot you stuck on my body, on my body like a tattooAnd now I'm feeling stupid, feeling stupid coming back to you}And just when he's about to leave, bag at the door, she seduces him, clinging to him, begging and bribing him with sex and the like to at least stay one more night{So I cross my heart and I hope to dieThat I'll only stay with you one more nightAnd I know I said it a million timesBut I'll only stay with you one more night}He wants to leave but doesn't as well, his heads are contradicting each other but the bottom one wins, and the process continues, they fight, he tries to leave, and she stops him and has him stay one more night, his mind says no but his instincts are SCREAMING yes, It's like an abusive relationship but with the female being dominant. This is just my opinion, sorry if othes disagree with me.

This Reggae tinged tune was released as the second single by Maroon 5, from their fourth studio album, Overexposed. Despite its sunny production, lyrically the track is quite dark with Levine crooning lyrics about being guilt-ridden about his part in a dysfunctional relationship, but still wanting to spend "one more night" together. The song was premiered by the band on May 18, 2012, at the Revel Casino and Hotel in Atlantic City, USA and was released on June 19, 2012.

In terms of chords and melody, One more night is more basic than the typical song, having below average scores in Chord Complexity, Melodic Complexity, Chord-Melody Tension, Chord Progression Novelty and Chord-Bass Melody. 0852c4b9a8
