The band had been browsing google for ideas for their new album "Hands All Over" - and when they typed it into the image search, this old, overly processed image of mine came up. Thanks to the amount of support you guys had given me and my stream, it showed up in the first page and they were able to follow my stream through and contact me.

In an interview with Rolling Stone, the band revealed they spent two months writing and recording their third album with producer Robert John "Mutt" Lange in his recording studio in Lake Geneva, Switzerland. Lead singer Adam Levine, spoke about the experience of working with Lange: "He worked me harder than anyone ever has," [...] "I would come in with a finished song, and he'd say, 'That's a good start. Now strip it down to the drums and start over.' The coolest thing about him is that not only has he been a huge, legendary producer, but he also is a legit, serious writer."[8]Rolling Stone has said that the resulting disc is the band's brightest-sounding and poppiest yet and that it delivers Lange's mix of catchy hooks and punchy rhythms.[8] Levine has also said about the album: "Our first record was a reflection of my love for Stevie Wonder. With the second I kept going back and forth between Prince and The Police. But there was no one on my mind for this album. It's just great pop."[8] In a separate interview, however, Levine said that the album was influenced by Tupac Shakur and Marvin Gaye.[9] The album artwork was revealed on July 1, 2010.[10] The cover photo for the album was taken by 19-year-old photographer Rosie Hardy, who also serves as the model in the photo. Hardy took the photo herself in just under an hour, in her own bedroom from the town of Buxton, United Kingdom.[11]

The IGN review rated Hands All Over seven-stars out of ten, claiming that the album is "programmed to hit all the bases: dance-y tracks, pop anthems, quasi-ballads. Almost every song on this record could be a single...Even though it's formulaic and delivers no surprises, fans of Maroon 5 should find exactly what they are looking for from this record."[35] Jakob Dorof from Slant Magazines review was mixed saying, "It adds a few more gems to the band's growing cache of incredible pop singles and overlooked deep cuts, Hands All Over makes some decent contributions to what could wind up being Maroon 5's true redemption: a damn fine greatest hits record."[39] The Los Angeles Times review says that: "Hands All Over reveals less about who frontman Adam Levine is than did Maroon 5's previous records; too often the songs cleave to opaque generalities".[2] Hugh Montgomery in The Observer wrote that 'Jaunty funk-pop and blustery arena balladry remain the order of the day, while Adam Levine's falsetto whine still proffers all the emotional gravitas of a mosquito'.[43]

With that aside, I wasn't expecting this to be THAT bad. But it was just extremely poor to me. It's just an album that just shifts in overall tone, but remains at a consistent quality. What I mean by this is that one minute, you hear H.E.R. carrying a mature song, but then the next minute, you hear Adam rapping in Seasons. One minute, you're listening to Adam sing about breaking up for the 690th time, the next minute you hear a Spanish featured verse in Button. But don't worry, it's all terrible (except HER's vocals).

Jesus Christ, where the hell are the actual instrumentals? Where are the good lyrics? Where's the identity and soul? Nowhere imo. I dislike every song on this album. Don't Wanna Know is the worst M5 song, and the rest don't help make up for it. Visions is the closest to decency, but it's rather subpar and the production is too pop pandering for me. Closure is 11 and a half minutes of nothingness, shit like What Lovers Do, Cold, Wait, and Girls Like You are extremely irritating, and stuff like Lips On You and Best 4 U just flat out suck. This was made to appeal to 2017 pop, and while it's not dated, it's still abhorrent.

Maroon 5 debuted on the music charts in 2002 with its album, "Songs About Jane." Since then, the band has sold more than 15 million records, won numerous music awards and has fans around the world, but they've yet to win over the music critics. Guest host Mary Louise Kelly speaks with Adam Levine and Jesse Carmichael about the group's new and third studio album, "Hands All Over," which is a mix of funk, soul, rock and country.

I'm quite anxious for this record. One of my Flickr contacts is the model, and did her own photograph, on the album cover. She had a similar picture, and the management and band contacted her about doing a different version that they wanted for the album. And what you see is what she did. The girl is only 18 or 19. Quite an accomplishment at such a young age.

The original photo of hers, posted in June 2008, had the title "i need to feel your hands all over me". When the band Googled "Hands All over", her photo popped up, and the rest is history. Here is her original photo:

While there are a few somewhat decent tracks on the album, most of the others are pop-driven fillers. They only contribute to the generally lukewarm feeling of the album; they lack dynamic range and are overly repetitive in chord structure and lyrics.

About Maroon 5

Capturing their first of three Grammy Awards as "Best New Artist" of 2005 and going on to sell more than 17 million albums worldwide, Maroon 5's releases have gone gold and platinum in over 35 countries. The band won over fans and critics alike with the hybrid rock/R&B sound they introduced on their debut album, Songs About Jane and their double platinum album, It Won't be Soon Before Long, which included hits like "Makes Me Wonder" and "If I Never See your Face Again." In 2010, Maroon 5 released their third studio album, Hands All Over, which was certified platinum. The collection featured two hit singles including the Hot AC smash "Misery" and the anthemic "Moves Like Jagger," which climbed to the #1 spot on the Top 40 and Hot AC charts, as well as claiming the #1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100. "Moves Like Jagger" was also one of the best selling singles of 2011 with sales of 8.5 million copies worldwide. With the success of the track on the Hot 100 chart, Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine also notably became the first artist in the chart's 53-year history to reach #1 as part of a group, while entering the Top 10 at the same time as a soloist, as he was featured on and co-wrote Gym Class Heroes' top single, "Stereo Hearts." Maroon 5's latest album Overexposed has quickly reinforced the group's status as a powerhouse in popular music with all of the collection's singles quickly rising to the top of the charts. The third single off of the album, "Daylight," claimed the # 1 spot on both Top 40 and Hot AC radio charts. In the process, the band set a record for the most #1's (six in total) by a group in the Top 40 chart's 20-year history. Maroon 5's latest hit is "Love Somebody." ff782bc1db
