What is Fulbright Teachers for Global Classrooms?
Fulbright TGC is a 12 month professional learning opportunity for educators to explore global education and engage in global collaboration through short-term field experiences in countries around the world. The program includes a 10-week gratuate level course, a global education symposium in Washington, D.C., and a 2-3 week international field experience. Fulbright Teacher Exchanges are programs sponsored by the U.S. Department of State's Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA), with funding provided by the U.S. Government and administered by IREX.
Do you know where you will be going?
Not yet! We expect to find out our field experience assignments in mid-December.
What will you do while abroad?
The field experience will include meeting with education professionals and/or policy makers in our host country, in addition to interacting with local classrooms.
What is "glocal"?
Aside from being entertaining to prounounce, it's the idea that global issues (like supply chains, climate, migration, etc.) have local addresses. It's about seeing the realities of the larger world right in our own backyard and understanding how local actions ripple outward.
