Please refer to NFHS Basketball Rules for standard gameplay. The rules below outline the modifications specific to the Mar Makil Basketball Tournament.

Each team is allowed 1 timeout for the entire game.
Each timeout will last 30 seconds.
Games will be played with a running clock.
The clock will only stop during dead balls in the final 30 seconds of the second half.
Halftime duration: 2 minutes.
No shot clock will be used.
Round Robin Games:
If the score is tied at the end of regulation, the game will end in a tie.
Playoff Games:
2-minute overtime periods will be played until a winner is determined.
A player will be ejected after 4 personal fouls.
2 technical fouls results in ejection from the game.
3 technical fouls (player or coach) results in automatic ejection from the tournament.
Fighting is strictly prohibited. Any fighting will result in immediate ejection of those involved.
The referee has the final decision on all calls.
The initial games will follow a Round Robin format.
Each team will play a minimum of 2 games.
Win: 1 point
Tie: 0 points
Loss: −1 point
Teams with the highest point totals will advance to the championship rounds.
Standings will be determined in the following order:
Win/Loss Record
Head-to-Head Result
Point Differential (Maximum +15 per game)
Total Points Scored
Coin Flip
If three teams are tied:
Point differential among tied teams
Total points among tied teams
Overall point differential
Coin flip
Only players, coaches, and referees are allowed on the court during gameplay.
Games will begin at 9:15 AM.
All teams are encouraged to attend the Opening Ceremony.
Teams must be ready 10 minutes before their scheduled game.
Teams not ready 5 minutes before the start of the game will forfeit the match.
5-minute halves (10 minutes total)
The offensive team must move the ball past half court within 10 seconds.
Players have 5 seconds to inbound the ball.
6 team fouls in a half places the opposing team in the bonus.
Bonus is One-and-One free throws.
6-minute halves (12 minutes total)
6 team fouls in a half places the opposing team in the bonus.
Bonus is One-and-One free throws.
7-minute halves (14 minutes total)
6 team fouls in a half places the opposing team in the bonus.
Bonus is One-and-One free throws.
