ABOUT ME

My name is Marlowe Laye, a guitar teacher and a full-time professional musician, composer and lyricist who loves to share my passion for music with my students. 

I offer the convivence of one-to-one or group lessons at the student's own homes within 15mile radius of Arundel, where I bring my own guitars and amps for my students to use. I teach relaxed informal lessons tailored to the student progress and abilities. I charge up to £25 per hour. I also give feedback and advice on how to improve and practice effectively. I teach both acoustic and electric guitar and cover pretty much all genres of music, from rock to pop to folk to blues. Whether you want to play for fun, for your friends, or for your own band, I can help you achieve your musical goals and have a great time along the way.

In addition to teaching guitar, I also offer instrument set ups, restringing and guitar advice as another service. I can help you with tuning, adjusting, cleaning and maintaining your guitar, as well as recommending the best guitars and accessories tailored for your needs and budget. I have a wealth of knowledge and experience in guitar technology and can help you get the most out of your instrument.

I have been playing guitar since I was very young and have developed my own style of composing, singing and producing original songs. I am also a member of the “Sun Hot Band”, a trio with my brother that creates catchy and upbeat tunes that showcase our talent and creativity. I teach beginner and intermediate guitar players who want to learn the basics of chords, scales, rhythm and melody, as well as how to write their own songs. I believe that music is a powerful way of expressing oneself and having fun, and I strive to inspire my students to find their own voice and enjoy playing guitar and above all have fun do so.
