Hello, my name is Marlo Gil. I have a passion for helping others with communication and swallowing needs. Growing up I developed a passion for helping others as individuals in my household were in need of care and assistance due to developmental disabilites. I saw an impact on the lives of my family members when they were provided the assistance they needed, especially when it came to communication assistance which inspired me to be a speech and language pathologist.
When selecting this profession I knew I wanted to provide high quality, client-centered care to my future clients/patients/students. I received my Bachelor's of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders and my Masters of Science in Speech and Language Pathology from Biola University. Biola was a great fit for me because they have a well rounded program that provides high quality instruction to their students in all areas of communication, cognition, and swallowing and equipped me with professional skills to work in all settings. They offered a wide range of opportunities for me to work with various populations of individuals in a variety of settings including community clinics, hospitals, and schools. Most importantly they taught me how to provide high quality care to clients that suit their individual needs. They emphasized the importance of addressing all of our clients in a kind and loving manner.
Welcome to my ePortfolio. In this portfolio you will find samples of my work including resources I have created, sample reports, and evidence based practice in the areas of articulation, fluency, voice, language, hearing, swallowing, cognition, social language, communication, and professional school, hospital, and professional issues.
