Teaching is a fundamental part of who I am, and I strive to be an inclusive educator, to provide equal opportunities for all my students, and to focus on active learning in my classroom.
As a 2023 CUNY Open Knowledge Fellow, I redesigned a syllabus for a course in statistics for the life sciences using existing Open Educational Resources available online.
In 2022, I was a fellow at the STEM Pedagogy Institute of CUNY, where I actively collaborated on a project aimed at fomenting a sense of belonging among students in STEM disciplines.
I was also a member of the “STEM Bridges over Eastern Queens” Program of the US Department of Education, a project aimed at increasing the number of Hispanic and underserved STEM graduates, where I contributed to redesigning biology landing courses.
Currently, I function as Transfer Student Liaison for the Queens STEM Academy teaching workshops, and crafting material to promote STEM programs at Queens College, CUNY.
