Effective July 15, 2026
MarkupMint is a browser extension for capturing, cropping, annotating, copying, and saving screenshots locally. It is designed to work entirely on the user's device.
MarkupMint does not collect, sell, share, or transmit personal information or screenshot content. It contains no analytics, advertising, tracking, account system, or cloud upload feature.
The extension captures only the currently visible browser tab after the user clicks its toolbar button. Screenshot pixels are processed locally. A capture is held temporarily in the extension's local IndexedDB storage so the editor can open reliably. It is deleted after the editor decodes it, and abandoned captures older than one hour are removed automatically.
Settings such as save mode, filename pattern, image format, JPEG quality, overwrite behavior, and close-after-save preference are stored locally using Chrome extension storage.
When the user selects a destination folder, the browser supplies a directory handle that is stored locally in IndexedDB. Chrome controls that permission and the user can revoke it. The extension does not receive Dropbox credentials or access any cloud account. If a selected local folder is synchronized by Dropbox or another desktop application, that separate application performs the synchronization.
activeTab: captures the visible tab only after a user action.
clipboardWrite: copies an edited screenshot when the user clicks Copy.
downloads: saves an edited screenshot through Chrome Downloads or a Save As fallback.
storage: remembers local extension preferences.
The extension does not request blanket access to websites, cookies, browsing history, precise location, camera, or microphone.
MarkupMint makes no network requests and does not download or execute remote code.
The Settings page includes an optional support link. It opens paypal.me/morganandreason76 in a new browser tab only after the user clicks it. MarkupMint does not collect or process payment information and does not receive information about whether a contribution was completed. PayPal's privacy policy and terms apply after the user leaves the extension and visits that external page.
If the extension's data practices change, this policy will be updated before a version containing those changes is published.
Questions about this privacy policy can be sent through the support contact shown on the MarkupMint Chrome Web Store listing.
