I've done design work for other people as well, and I will put some of it here. Usually this is related to their business, or for fun.
A friend I went to HS with has a daughter who does Jiu Jitsu, and she was frustrated at the lack of rash guards for girls. So the mom wanted to help create a line of these (which are worn under the gi) for young girls her daughter's age. This was the final design of the logo, the slogan coming from Renee's daughter Solie.
My sister in law has been active in the foster care world for many years, and adopted her son over a decade ago. She also loves dogs, and still owns several (as well as fostering others). She had an idea for a company that would be run by former foster youth, with an organic home made dog food. This is the logo we came up with, and it eventually was sold in some orange county pet shops.
One of the school secretary's two sons wanted to form a drone club on campus a couple years ago, and it became a reality. The secretary wanted a shirt design as a present for her boy, and this is the final design. Only thing we added that was different from this picture was the year, 2019.
That same secretary was asked by Mr. Vega to come up with a poster for a dodgeball tournament that was going on between Mr. Robinson the ASB director and Mr. Zambrano, a Spanish teacher here on campus who has done dodgeball in the gym before. I took the original Dodgeball movie poster with Ben Stiller and Vince Vaughn and changed it, as well as making the ball blue and adding the Millikan logo. I think it turned out very well!
