Mark Hooker Fishing

Mark is a longtime resident of the Houston Area, moving here in 1970. He began guiding for Dove & Waterfowl Hunts for two of the largest Outfitters on the West Side of Houston in 1983. He also began taking parties on Private Lake Bass Fishing Trips in the Spring of 1984. In March of 1996, Mark started his own Outfitter Business, Web & Fin Outfitters L.L.C., www.webandfin.net. His Company specialized in Dove & Waterfowl Hunts, as well as Bass Fishing on Private Lakes. Mark also established two Bass Fishing Clubs, and ran those for a decade, where Members would have access to some of the finest Private Lakes in the Houston Area.

By 2002 Mark had his business running efficiently, so he decided to pursue his other passion, Teaching. Since he had earned a B.A. in Political Science, Mark chose the Social Studies Field in which to Teach. He worked in the Spring School District for 6 years and has spent the last 14 years in the Montgomery School District. In his 20 years as an Educator, Mark has served in Leadership for 7 of those years as a Department Chair. 

Mark also began to compete in mostly Regional Tournament Trails such as the BFL, FLW, Bassmaster’s Week-end Series, Bass Champs, and Bass-N-Bucks tournament circuits, compiling 6 top 10’s including a Victory at the Bass Pro Shop Open held on Sam Rayburn in June of 2020. Mark also has logged 24 Top 20 finishes, as well as 54 Top 50 finishes, all in Tournament Fields of at least 100 competitors, and sometimes upwards of 200 Boats. In all combined, Mark has compiled over 1 million dollars in earnings mostly through Web & Fin, as well as over 40K in Tournament Winnings. 

By far, the most impressive accomplishment is the Bass Fishing World for Mark lies in the MISD Fishing Team, which he started in 2014. He has guided a program that started in 2014 with 14 students, to 92 by 2023. In those 9 years, his Teams have won 8 Divisional Titles, 4 Regional Titles, as well as 1 State Championship.
