Mark Heckey has over thirty years of professional experience in planning, land development, and real estate.

Since 2017, Mr. Heckey has been writing as a freelance writer, with his work appearing in online magazines such as California Update. He has written for local newspapers and had three short stories published in the Sacramento Suburban Writers’ 2019 anthology. He is an active member of the California Writers Club Sacramento branch where he volunteers as a board member and participates in critique groups and poetry readings. In 2019, Mr. Heckey taught two writing courses through the Renaissance Program at Cal State Sacramento.
