# Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how Market Understanding Trading(the “App”, “we”, “our”, or “us”) collects, uses, and protects information when you use our iOS/iPadOS/macOS application.

By using the App, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

## 1. Overview

- The App stores your content on your device by default. If you enable iCloud, your content may be synchronized across your devices via Apple’s CloudKit.

- Certain features (e.g., AI analysis) may send chart images and prompts to third-party services (e.g., OpenAI) to provide results. See Section 4 for details.

- We use Apple’s StoreKit for subscriptions and do not receive your full payment details.

## 2. Information We Collect

We collect the minimum data necessary to operate the App:

- Content you choose to provide (stored on-device and, if enabled, in iCloud/CloudKit)

  - Chart screenshots and imported images

  - Notes, journal entries, strategies, and related metadata

  - Trade outcomes and performance data you record

- Subscription and purchase information

  - Product identifiers, transaction receipts, and entitlement status via Apple’s StoreKit

- Usage metrics (local)

  - AI analysis counters (e.g., number of analyses used per month), stored locally on your device

- Support communications (if you contact us)

  - Email address and any information you include in your message

We do not knowingly collect personal contact information unless you voluntarily provide it (e.g., when contacting support).

## 3. How We Use Information

We use your information to:

- Provide core features (chart storage, AI analysis, journaling, statistics)

- Manage subscriptions and entitlements via StoreKit

- Enforce quotas and fair use for AI features

- Improve reliability, quality, and user experience

- Provide customer support when you contact us

- Comply with legal obligations

## 4. AI Features and Third-Party Services

- On-device processing: Where feasible, processing occurs on-device. Some AI features require sending your content to a third party.

- OpenAI (if configured):

  - When you request AI analysis, the App may send your chart images and prompts to OpenAI’s API to obtain results.

  - If the App is configured to use your own OpenAI API key, requests are sent directly from your device to OpenAI. We do not receive or store your prompts, images, or results on our servers.

  - If we provide our own API key or a relay, we will disclose this in-app and below. In that case, we do not retain your prompts, images, or outputs beyond transient processing, unless we explicitly state otherwise.

  - Your use of OpenAI is governed by OpenAI’s terms and privacy policy. For details on data retention and training, see: https://openai.com/policies

  - Do not submit sensitive or personally identifiable information in images or prompts.

- Apple StoreKit: Purchases are processed by Apple. We receive transaction receipts and entitlement status but not your full payment details.

- iCloud/CloudKit (optional): If enabled, Apple may store and sync your data across your devices signed into the same Apple ID. Apple’s iCloud and CloudKit are subject to Apple’s terms and privacy policy.

## 5. Data Storage and Sync

- Local storage: By default, your data is stored on your device.

- iCloud/CloudKit (optional): If enabled, your data is stored in your iCloud account and may sync across your devices. You can disable iCloud for the App in system settings.

- Backups: Your device backups (e.g., iCloud Backup or local backups) may include App data according to your device settings.

- Our servers: We do not operate our own servers for user content. If this changes, we will update this policy.

## 6. Data Retention

- On-device/iCloud content: Retained until you delete it or uninstall the App. Uninstalling removes local data from that device; iCloud/CloudKit data may remain in your iCloud account until removed.

- StoreKit records: We retain purchase receipts and entitlement information as required for accounting, fraud prevention, and legal compliance.

- AI requests: If you use your own OpenAI API key, retention is governed by OpenAI’s policies. If we provide a key or relay, we do not retain your prompts/images/outputs beyond transient processing unless otherwise stated.

## 7. Your Rights and Choices

- Access and correction: View and edit your content within the App.

- Deletion: Delete content from the App at any time. To remove iCloud/CloudKit data, delete content from all devices or disable iCloud for the App.

- Permissions: Revoke Photos access in system settings.

- Subscriptions: Manage or cancel in iOS Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions.

- Regional rights:

  - EEA/UK: You may have rights to access, rectify, delete, restrict, or object to processing, and data portability. Our legal bases include performance of a contract (providing the App), legitimate interests (improving and securing the App), and consent (where required).

  - California: We do not “sell” or “share” personal information as defined by the CPRA. You can request access or deletion by contacting us at the email below.

## 8. Security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

## 9. International Transfers

If you use the App outside your country of residence, your information may be processed in countries with different data protection laws. By using the App, you consent to such processing. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards.

## 10. Children’s Privacy

The App is not intended for children under the age of 13 (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect data from children.

## 11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last Updated” date. Your continued use of the App after changes indicates acceptance of the revised policy.
