If you want a durable, textured replacement specifically for the passenger side of a 2009-2019 Nissan Frontier to match your factory trim, choose Marketplace Auto Parts Right Passenger Side; if you need a complete, illuminated fog light upgrade kit with wiring and switches for a 2001-2003 Honda Civic to enhance safety and show appeal, choose YLT AUTO Front Bumper Running.
These two products occupy entirely different corners of the automotive aftermarket. One is a cosmetic shell designed to blend seamlessly into an existing setup, while the other is a functional lighting system meant to replace the entire assembly from scratch. The decision between them isn't about which brand is "better" in a vacuum; it is strictly about what vehicle you drive and whether you are looking for a simple cover or a full lighting solution. For car detailing enthusiasts who focus on restoring the original aesthetic of their truck without altering its electrical systems, the Marketplace Auto option provides a clean, factory-correct finish. Conversely, those working on older sedans who need to bring fog lights back to life or add a bold yellow accent for better visibility in poor weather will find the YLT AUTO kit far more practical.
• Marketplace Auto Parts Right Passenger Side: Strengths include a textured dark gray finish that matches OEM specs perfectly for the Nissan Frontier; trade-off is that it is a single piece only, requiring you to already have a functioning light housing. Best for: Owners needing a direct, low-profile repair for their right-side fog area.
• YLT AUTO Front Bumper Running: Strengths include a comprehensive kit with bulbs, wiring harness, and switch included, plus a special anti-fog coating for long-term clarity; trade-off is that it requires full installation and is specific to the 2001-2003 Honda Civic. Best for: Drivers wanting a complete, upgraded lighting system with improved safety features.
The Marketplace Auto Parts Right Passenger Side Fog Light Cover is built for a very specific scenario: when the plastic housing around your fog light has cracked, faded, or been damaged, but the light itself still works. This part is designed exclusively for the 2009 through 2019 Nissan Frontier models. If you own one of these trucks and notice that the textured gray plastic on the passenger side looks worn out or is missing, this cover is the solution. It does not contain a bulb, a lens, or any electrical components. It is simply a high-quality new replacement shell that snaps over your existing assembly.
The key selling point here is the finish. The product description specifies a "Textured Dark Gray" color. In the world of truck accessories, texture matters immensely. A smooth plastic cover on a rugged truck can look cheap and out of place. This cover mimics the rough, industrial feel of the original factory bumper, ensuring that once installed, your truck retains its aggressive, utilitarian look. It is a "Premium" quality part, meaning the materials are selected to withstand the elements without cracking or peeling prematurely.

You should buy this item if you are doing a restoration project on your Nissan Frontier and want to maintain the stock appearance. It is also ideal for detailers who spend hours cleaning and prepping vehicles, as having a matching, undamaged cover allows the rest of the detailing process to flow smoothly without distractions. However, if you are looking to upgrade your lighting performance, change the color of your lights, or if your current fog light housing is completely gone, this part will not help you. It is purely a cosmetic and structural repair piece. Skip this if you do not own a 2009-2019 Frontier, as the fitment is exact and non-negotiable.
In stark contrast, the YLT AUTO Front Bumper Running Fog Light Replacement Kit is a comprehensive solution for owners of 2001-2003 Honda Civics across all trims (LX, DX, EX, HX, GX) and body styles (Sedan, Coupe). This is not just a cover; it is a full replacement system. The package includes a pair of fog lights (both left and right), bulbs, a wiring harness, and a switch. This means you do not need to hunt down old parts or hope your existing wiring still conducts power. Everything required to get the lights running is in the box.
One of the most critical features for anyone living in areas with rain, snow, or heavy traffic is the lens technology. YLT AUTO has applied a special coating to the yellow lenses. This coating is explicitly designed to prevent fogging and fading. Over time, standard headlights and fog lights often become cloudy, reducing visibility significantly. By using a lens that resists this degradation, this kit ensures proper illumination for years to come. Furthermore, the construction is well-sealed. The edges are molded to prevent water and dirt from entering the unit, and it includes one-way vents to keep the interior dry even in harsh weather conditions.
This product is perfect for someone looking to improve driving safety by adding or restoring fog lights on an older Civic. The yellow lens is particularly useful for cutting through glare in bad weather. Additionally, because the package includes a switch and wiring, you have full control over when to activate them. The design also offers a "gorgeous look" that makes the vehicle stand out, making it a favorite for show cars or enthusiasts who want their Civic to look fresh and modern again. You should buy this if your current fog lights are broken, missing, or if you never had them and want to install a reliable, safe system. It is less suitable for those who want to keep their car completely stock without any visible modifications, as the yellow lens and the inclusion of a dash switch change the car's original character.
• Best for Vehicle Fitment Specificity → Both are highly specific; choose Marketplace Auto for the 2009-2019 Nissan Frontier and YLT AUTO for the 2001-2003 Honda Civic. Neither fits both.
• Best for Complete Lighting System → YLT AUTO Front Bumper Running wins hands down because it includes bulbs, wiring, and a switch. Marketplace Auto offers nothing but a plastic shell.
• Best for Cosmetic Restoration Only → Marketplace Auto Parts Right Passenger Side is superior if you only need to fix a cracked cover and keep the rest of the assembly intact.
• Best for Weather Resistance Features → YLT AUTO includes one-way vents and a sealed design specifically to prevent water and dirt ingress, a feature absent in a simple cover like Marketplace Auto.
• Best for Lens Clarity and Safety → The YLT AUTO yellow lens with anti-fog coating offers active safety benefits that a dark gray textured cover cannot provide.
• Best for Show Cars and Upgrades → YLT AUTO is the clear choice for adding a visual upgrade and improving night-time visibility on a classic Civic.
• Best for Matching Factory Texture → Marketplace Auto is designed to replicate the exact "Textured Dark Gray" look of the original Nissan bumper.
• Best for Ease of Installation (Electrical) → YLT AUTO simplifies the process by providing a dedicated wiring harness and switch, removing the guesswork of connecting power.
If I were buying parts for my own garage, I would choose the YLT AUTO Front Bumper Running kit for the Honda Civic application. The reason is simple: value and completeness. Getting a pair of fog lights, bulbs, wiring, and a switch in one box is a massive advantage over trying to source those components separately. The added safety of the anti-fog coating and the sealed construction make it a smarter long-term investment for driving in inclement weather. While the Marketplace Auto cover is excellent for a quick cosmetic fix on a Nissan, the YLT AUTO kit transforms a vehicle's functionality and safety profile entirely. For car detailing purposes, having a fully functional, bright, and sealed lighting system allows for a much higher quality final presentation than a simple cover on a potentially dim or broken light.
Yes, the kit includes a dedicated switch and wiring harness, so you can install the switch yourself and wire the lights directly to your battery or fuse box.
No, this is strictly a textured dark gray plastic cover designed to fit over your existing fog light housing. You must use your own bulb.
While specifications confirm they are designed for safety and visibility, local laws vary regarding colored lighting. Check your regional regulations before installing yellow fog lights.
Since it is a replacement cover for a 2009-2019 Nissan Frontier, it generally snaps into place where the old cover was removed, usually requiring minimal tools depending on how the original fasteners were secured.
