When was the last time you sent an email and made money a few minutes later?
If you answer this question with “Ohhhh…” or “Huh?” answer, pay attention! Because customers are not won online in social networks, but with e-mails.
So, in this blog post, I'll show you four ways you can make money from an email list. And best of all, two of them work very well even with a small email list. Here we go!
The first way: launches
A launch (actually “Product Launch”) is the introduction of a new product into the market. In the run-up to the product launch, you generate as large a background noise as possible on the subject of your product. When it's officially available, you should be sure to get your audience's attention.
At the moment I'm also in the middle of a launch, even if this is not particularly noticeable here on my blog. In the run-up to my launch, I carried out a challenge for which over 900 participants had registered. Because it worked so well, I will also be giving training on successful challenges in the Smart Business Academy at the end of October.
A launch is usually accompanied by a large number of emails. In fact, they are the main engine of sales. If you do it right, every email you send out during your launch will bring you additional revenue.
The second way: webinars
I don’t need to explain what a webinar is anymore :) Webinars are a great way to sell products online. To avoid misunderstandings: You can really sell any kind of offer via webinars. Even offline events!
In order to sell successfully in a webinar, two things are particularly important in my experience:
1. You need a lot of registrations for your webinar.
2. You have to give a really good webinar.
The email list comes into play twice in webinars. On the one hand, it helps you get a lot of registrations for your webinar. Of course, you don't want to just refer to your email list when filling out your webinar. But your email subscribers are ideally “warmed up” and already trust you, so they are more likely to buy than people who don't know you.
Second, emails help you sell again here. Because you want to send several emails to your webinar participants after the webinar, a so-called follow-up campaign. In the past you would have said “follow up”;) Here too - if you do it right - every email generates sales again. For me, this path also works extremely well.
The third way: autoresponder sequences
Autoresponders, also known as follow-ups, are emails that are sent automatically. You prepare it once and enter it into your e-mail system. You can decide for yourself which trigger leads to the start of an autoresponder sequence. Once put on, the autoresponder works completely automatically for you day and night :)
You can also use autoresponders for a small email list.
I recently saw a very good example with the American entrepreneur Farideh Ceaser . She has an online course called "Fb Ads For Launching". For her, a lot revolves around successful launches. Farideh has set up a small product staircase around her course:
1. Blog post about launches (free)
2. Launch Mini Playbook (free, against email address)
3. Launch Playbook (paid, $ 27)
4. Fb Ads For Launching (paid, $ 397)
Suppose someone comes across Farideh's blog post. He'll then add himself to her email list to receive the free Launch Mini Playbook. Then the magic begins, namely the autoresponder magic!
Farideh then sends out an autoresponder that contains several exciting stories on the subject of launches. In doing so, she refers to her Launch Playbook without being intrusive. I'm sure she's also selling her great course well via this follow-up sequence.
The fourth way: one-time offers
One-time offers are great because they work with a small email list. The idea: You send two to four emails to your email list over a short period of time. In these emails you are promoting a single offer or product.
The last time I made such a one-off offer was in July. There I offered my online program for a short time at a very reasonable price. Within three or four days, I made a turnover of 2,970 euros - and that with just a few emails. I did not advertise the offer anywhere; the sales came only from my e-mail list.
Writing good sales emails does indeed take a bit of practice. When I think back to my very first attempts, oh man;) But believe me: you can learn that. Fortunately, it's like riding a bike: once you can do it, you won't forget it.
Conclusion: emails bring money, but ...
You see: There are very different ways to make money with your email list. Even if your email list isn't huge yet, you have a good chance of generating sales with it.
BUT: Trust always comes before the sale! You definitely have to build trust first, otherwise your offers will not be bought and your subscribers will unsubscribe very quickly.
