This was my favorite class in all of college, I learned a tremendous amount from Mark and the course material. The small class/discussion based classroom aloud for uncapped learning and I learned just as much from my peers as from Mark. Mark led the discussions and the inclusion and perspective taught in this class was unmatched across the rest of my classes during my undergrad.
This course was one of my most beneficial classes on business acquisition and private equity. Every class was organized more as a conversation, allowing better interpretation and understanding of each subject. The size of the class was perfect as well, with enough students to bring different viewpoints and ideas, but any more would create disconnection and unfamiliarity with each person which pushes the class further from what made it a great experience. One of my favorite classes I have ever taken and genuinely learned the most from it without being lectured to or sitting there just to listen and memorize.
One of my favorite courses I've taken at the U. Very hands on and interesting, and provides a diverse range of skillsets and thought processes that will be transferrable to the real world.
Mark is extremely knowledgeable and added personal experiences to the class, making it much more enjoyable and interesting. Although the course was challenging and he absolutely had a hand in that, I think any difference would have diminished part of what made the class unique.
This course provides a thorough overview of the company acquisition process. I was challenged in each class and gained perspectives from classroom discussions. Any student interested in entrepreneurship should take this class. I enjoyed the final project and credit it as one of the best learning opportunities I've experienced in business school, especially the opportunity to present a potential acquisition to PE firm representees. All students at the business school would benefit from participating in this project. Any student interested in private equity, venture capital, or general entrepreneurship should take this course.
