Mark Jansen

About Me

I currently serve as an Assistant Professor at the University of Utah's David Eccles School of Business. My academic focus lies in private equity, entrepreneurial finance, and household finance. Before my tenure at the University of Utah, I gained experience in private equity as the managing director at Holland Park Capital and was part of the Young President's Organization (YPO). My earlier career involved roles in management consulting and the chemical sector. I hold a Ph.D. and a master's degree in finance from the University of Texas at Austin, an M.B.A. from the London Business School (LBS), and a dual Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering and management science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).  Curriculum Vitae.

I have a passion for outdoor activities and athletics, embracing the scenic wonders of Utah. During my leisure time, I'm often engaged in mountain and road biking, skiing, hiking, running, and windsurfing. I share my life with my spouse, our two teenage children, and our wonderful dog, Cookie.
