Profile in Focus: Mark Gilbert

Mark Gilbert and his long experience in the field of automotive sales could not be understated. As it stands, he’s the CEO of the Automotive Training Network and is responsible for making waves in the automotive industry’s marketing and sales functions. His 35 years of experience have led to considerable achievements and accomplishments. Starting from the bottom and now an impressive leader, he continues to trailblaze onward in the industry. He continually inspires others to follow in his footsteps.

From the Bottom to the Top

In over three decades of work, it’s the humble beginnings that make the successes seem all the more impressive. Even though he would go on to start and built dealerships, Mark Gilbert initially began as an employee in a dealership. A salesperson at 19, it would go on to lead him up the ladder in automotive sales, going from salesperson to new car manager—on and on up the different ranks until he became a dealer principal himself. His story of hard work and determination proves that focus, skill, and perseverance brings you to great heights.

Accomplishments through the Years

He had seen his share of experience throughout multiple car brands, from Honda to Fiat-Chrysler. With Tom Stuker, his friend of three decades, they paved the way to new trends and methods in automotive education and training. Mark Gilbert especially emphasizes sales strategies and behavioral psychology. His techniques and expertise have been so effective that he’s been called upon to become a multiple-time speaker for the National Automobile Dealers Association and the Australian Automotive Dealers Association. He’s even been featured in the Tom Stuker Show.

Away from all of these career successes, however, Mark Gilbert is a loving family man. He’s been married for 25 years, with five children and seven grandchildren who make every day an adventure. As an avid traveler and sports fan, his life is colored by success, work-life balance, and hopes for the future.
