Maritime Club 940 is part of the Learning for Life (LFL) Exploring program, a subsidiary of the Boy Scouts of America. As such, the Exploring program, Explorer Posts (coed ages 14-20) and Explorer Clubs (coed ages 10-14) have their own and different national dues structure. Unfortunately, the annual BSA fees paid in your Scout BSA Troop, Sea Scout Ship or Venturing Crew do not cover the LFL annual fees.
Here's how to join, and what it costs, to join the Maritime Explorer Club 940, for youth ages 10-14:
Complete the Explorer youth application, found at: FINAL_1a-524-00919-Exploring-Youth-App_WEB.pdf
Adult application at: FINAL-1a_524-01019-Explor-Adult-App_WEB.pdf (exploring.org)
National fees (renewed each year on your joining membership date):
Annual fee $50 for participants, renewed each year on your joining membership date
Annual adult leader LFL fee is $60 and is payable even if you paid the BSA fee of $60
Brand new, never, ever joined Boy Scouts of America in the past - $25 joining fee, paid one time only
Make check payable to Minsi Trails Council
Over 21? Everyone over 21 needs to follow the BSA youth protection guidelines and, if a resident of Pennsylvania, obtain ACT 15 clearances. Please reference the MTC web site for details: PA Volunteer Clearances (minsitrails.org)
