I’m a computer-science PhD candidate in the University of Washington's Lab for Human-AI Interaction, advised by Dan Weld. Over the course of my PhD, I have studied methods to enable users to better understand and control AI tools (generative AI, recommender systems). While my work has focused primarily on the domain of scientific research, I've also done projects related to music recommendation and clinical decision-making. I have interned at the Allen Institute for AI, Google, and Microsoft.
I enjoy developing prototypes and conducting a combination of quantitative and qualitative research in order to investigate how AI tools can best support their users. In particular, I am excited to explore the many potential applications of generative AI to improve people's lives, with a focus on transparent and ethical design.
Please check out my projects for more insight into my work.
