I am an associate professor in the department of economics at Stellenbosch University, where I work within the field of development economics as part of the Research on Socioeconomic Policy (ReSEP) group. 

My research has consistently focused on assessing the impact of social policy on individuals and households. My growing research interest lies in the effects of government-provided infrastructure—housing, water, electricity, sanitation—on citizen health and well-being and in developing methods to ensure government accountability for these services
