Al and Diane Mellinger
In addition to the church plant in the southern Bulgarian city of Petrich, seven church planting projects have been started, primarily in Roma communities, including one in Skopje, Macedonia. Regular training events are held for pastors and church leaders, and a youth training conference is held each summer. A microenterprise loan fund, as well as a non-profit business New Start LLC, has been established to help provide employment possibilities. VISA missionaries Chance and Dee Dee Galloway are involved with establishing the St. John’s Home, a safe house for at-risk girls, as a part of the Set Free Movement.
The newest Free Methodist work in the Middle East is in the Galilee region of Israel, specifically the city of Nazareth, Jesus’ boyhood home. Led by Dr. Nabil, an Asbury Seminary graduate, the work encompasses church planters serving 21 house fellowships and more than 400 people. More house churches will be launched soon. In addition, leaders anticipate establishing four house church networks in the Bethlehem area in 2016. Some 1.6 million Israeli Arabs reside in Israel and represent the target population for FM church planting efforts.
God is moving across Latin America in and through the Free Methodist Church. Disciples, leaders, groups and congregations are being multiplied. The church is young in age, vibrant in spirituality, holistic in approach, and passionate about reaching their continent for Christ. Join us in praying for great effectiveness and fruit for eternity as many countries implement the Community Church Planting (CCP) model.
International Child Care Ministries
International Child Care Ministries is a child sponsorship initiative serving 20,000 children in over 30 countries. We work with Free Methodists for high levels of care and accountability. Through education, meals, clothing and basic medical care, children in need have an opportunity for a better life. For just one dollar a day you can sponsor a child and change a life forever.
Operation Christmas Child
Marion FMC participates in Operation Christmas Child and packs shoe boxes every year for children around the world. We are collecting toys, school supplies and donations now. "The Amazing Journey of a Shoebox Gift Begins with You and Results in Evangelism, Discipleship, and Multiplication."
