My name is Marion Coste and I am a postdoctoral research fellow at IRD hosted by the SESSTIM lab in Marseille.
I conduct primary research in sub-Saharan Africa, with a focus on applying health capability as a conceptual framework.
My research fields are health economics, development economics, public health, health policy and bioethics.
Currently, my main research project focuses on extended cost-effectiveness analyses of simplified models of care for viral hepatitis in Senegal and Cameroon.
I am affiliated with the Health Equity and Policy Lab (HEPL), the Pan-African Scientific Research Council (PASRC), and am a coordinator of the Health & Disability thematic group of the Human Development and Capability Association.
About Me
Born and raised in South-West France, I am an applied social scientist with a Ph.D. in Economics from the Aix-Marseille School of Economics (AMSE) awarded in May 2023. I also received master's degrees in Economics from SciencesPo and in Political Philosophy and Ethics from Sorbonne Université.
Previously, I worked as a project manager with the French National Institute of Health and Medical Research (INSERM), and as economic officer for the French Treasury in Lao PDR (South East Asia).
I have also studied at Monash University (South Africa campus), Loyola University Chicago and DePauw University (Indiana). Most recently, I visited Indiana University and the University of Pensylvania for research purposes.
