University Game Jam
Theme - Destruction
Team - Solo (Games Designer)
Time/ Duration - 1 Week in October 2020

Race to Destroy is a top-down racing game where the main aim is to destroy the other player's vehicle by ramming into the other player or by pushing the other player's car into the wall/ out of bounds area
--------------------------------------------------------------
What Went Well: A successful element of Race to Destroy was the prototype being a proof of concept. This is because, when people knew the goal, it was rather enjoyable to play especially as it was akin to couch co-op games.
What Needed to be Different: An issue with the game was that the goal was difficult to figure out. What didn't help with this was that it looked like a normal race track. A solution I could of done is instead of "3, 2, 1, Go" that is normally seen in racing games, I could of done "3, 2, 1, Destroy". This would of helped in 2 cases, it would of given the player the goal of the game, which is to destroy the other player's car, and it would of added another layer of familiarity to get the player used to the world.

University Game Jam
Theme - Burning Up
Team - Team of 5 (Games Designer/ Programmer)
Time/ Duration - 1st November 2021 - 5th November 2021
--------------------------------------------------------------
The player is trying to play through the level while losing health and avoiding traps.
--------------------------------------------------------------
What Went Well: A successful element of the game was the gameplay and how you need to balance many different things but we ensured it wasn't overwhelming to balance them all. This was successful because it provided interesting gameplay choices for the player which resulted in the team winning the game jam.
What Needed to be Different: An issue was that I wasn't able to complete the level. This meant that the game wasn't fully done. In the future, I'll try to get the level done even it is a basic version.

New Year, New Skills Game Jam
Theme - Making Connections
Team - Team of 7 (Games Designer/ Programmer/ Designed UI) where I wrote the overall Games Design Document and organised the overall feel, art style and music with input from the Artist and Sound Designer
Time/ Duration - 7th January 2024 to 14th January 2024
--------------------------------------------------------------
“Vibe High” is a game where the player meeting other students in a high school setting and having “music” battles with them in order for them join the band. "Music" Battles happen as that is the only way the characters can express themselves.
--------------------------------------------------------------
What Went Well: The team successfully collaborated on a game to deliver a game that we were all happy with especially as this was the first time we all worked together. This therefore meant that we were able to be really efficient and was comfortable in sharing feedback. Another successful element is how we "told" a story through music. What I mean by this is player needs to form a band with people (making connections) by beating them in music battles.
What Needed to be Different: I should of properly playtested the game. This was because when I "launched" the game onto Itch.io, I wasn't able to playtest meaning I didn't know that the game was just too difficult. This therefore meant the game wasn't enjoyable for players to play and was just impossible to complete. In the future, I would ensure playtests are done more frequently as well as being more thorough.
