I am currently a postdoc with habilitation track at the Department of Mathematics of the CAU Kiel in Germany. I am part of the analysis section - my academic supervisor is Prof. Dr. Tim de Laat.
My research is focused on the theory of C*-algebras, von Neumann algebras, dynamical systems, approximation properties and operator algebraic connections to geometric group theory.
Before coming to Kiel, I did my BSc and MSc at the University Münster in Germany. My bachelor's thesis, written under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Wilhelm Winter, was an exposition to the theory of Hardy spaces and Toeplitz operators. In my master's thesis, also supervized by Prof. Dr. Wilhelm Winter, I studied Renault's notion of Cartan subalgebras in C*-algebras and its relevance for the UCT problem. After my time in Münster I completed my PhD under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Martijn Caspers at the University of Technology (TU Delft) in the Netherlands, where I was part of the analysis group. The PhD project that I worked on was focused on the study of the structure of Hecke operator algebras. After my PhD I was an FWO postdoctoral fellowship holder at the Department of Mathematics of the KU Leuven in Belgium, where I was part of the analysis section - my academic supervisor was Prof. Dr. Stefaan Vaes.
