The goal of this project is to assess the impact that social media has on our lives and society as a whole.
You have a HEALTHY RELATIONSHIP with social media - well done!
Congratulations! Psychologists estimate that as many as 5 to 10% of Americans meet the criteria for social media addiction today. But luckily, that's not you! Not checking social media every few minutes doesn't make you feel anxious, as you prefer to live 'in the moment' rather than through your apps. You use social media to your advantage, at work and to connect with friends and family, but you know when to put it away. Keep it up!
I find it interesting that people who think social media is harmful think that because of misinformation, but the ones who think it has a positive effect think the most positive effect say its because of the ease of obtaining information.
I think that social media can have a positive and a negative effect on society. It can help to connect people and spread important information, but it also has the potential to be harmful. Social media used in the correct way has been shown to bring people together and provide a safe space for people to share their stories and receive support, but sadly this isn't how social media is often used. It has been used to spread hate and misinformation, which negatively impact society as a whole but also hurts individuals.
Completing this project I learned about the opinions of the general population on social media. I also learned about how social media has effected me.
