Ramón y Cajal Researcher
She earned her BSc with honors in Chemistry from the University of Jaén, Spain (2014), an MSc from the University of Alcalá, Spain (2015), and an biinternational PhD (excellent cum laude, 2019) from the University of Siena (Italy) and BGSU (USA) under Prof. Olivucci, focusing on QM/MM modeling of rhodopsins. Her international postdoctoral career includes a JSPS Fellowship at the University of Tokyo (Japan) with Prof. Inoue (2020–2022) combining computational and spectroscopic techniques, and an Azrieli Fellowship at the Technion (Israel) with Prof. Béjà (2023–2024) expanding into bioinformatics and marine ecology. She has consolidated her leadership and independence as Principal Investigator FEDER UJA Talent (2024) and most recently she became Ramón y Cajal Researcher (2026) at the University of Jaén (Spain).

Undergraduate
Doctor course, 4rd grade
Ana earned her BSc in Chemistry from the University of Jaén, Spain (2021). She holds an MSc in Olive Grove and Olive Oil (2022) and an MSc in Applied Chemistry (2023) from the same Institution. Since 2023, she has been pursuing her PhD in Chemistry at the University of Jaén, focusing her research on magnetic, chiral, and luminescent materials based on coordination compounds and π-conjugated systems. Her work encompasses the theoretical characterization and analysis of chemical systems using molecular modeling, as well as spectroscopic and chromatographic techniques.

Theoretical Characterization and Analysis of Chemical Systems Using Molecular Modeling, Spectroscopic and Chromatographic Techniques
Doctor course, 2nd grade
BSc in Chemistry from the University of Jaén, Spain (2024) and MSc in Applied Chemistry (2025) from the same University. During her BSc she has been awarded with different research grants in different institutions (University of Granada, University of Jaén and CiQUS). Since 2025 she is pursuing her PhD in Chemistry at the University of Jaén, in the area of Physical Chemistry. Her research focuses on the development of luminescent systems based on π-conjugated systems and lanthanide complexes that allow the differentiation between cancer cells and normal cells depending on some cellular microenvironment properties. Recently, she has been awarded with a predoctoral fellowship from Asociación Española Contra el Cáncer.
