Humans often think of ourselves as the kings of the Earth. We expand across the globe and take over the land. However, land is not the major power on the Earth. Water covers about 71% of the Earth's surface. The largest body of water on Earth is the Ocean. It is so large that it is broken down into countless different oceans, straights, seas, and sounds. Nonetheless, it is still one large powerful body of water with powerful tides, dangerous rip currents, beautiful clear water, and the home to some of the largest lifeforms on our planet.
Are you drawn to the ocean? Do you hear the call of the sirens?
If you want to learn more about life under the sea, you have come to the right place:
Beneath the ocean there is an entirely different world consisting of different plants, animals, ecosystems, and food chains that have been largely untouched by humans. The Ocean is commonly referred to as one of the last unexplored frontiers on the Earth. While there is still so much that we, humans, do not know about the depths of the ocean, we have learned much about the different plants, animals, and ecosystems that constitute marine life across the entire world. This website will serve as in introduction to many facets of life beneath the sea including marine plants, fish, marine mammals, and human interaction with marine life.
