About

80% of all life on Earth is in our seas, and more than 22 million people live within 5 miles of Englands 4,422km coastline. A recent study has shown that visiting the coast can improve peoples mental health and well being.

It is important that we enthuse people about the natural environment from a young age. The national curriculum for science aims to “develop understanding of the nature, processes and methods of science through different types of science enquiries that help them to answer scientific questions about the world around them”. Ultimately, by engaging 4-11 year old’s through visual and practical activities we will demonstrate the value of our marine habitats and species with the aim to encourage behaviour change and tackle barriers to nature recovery.
