Leadership is the ability of an individual or a group of individuals to take action and to influence and guide other members of an organization.

The implications of this for me as a teacher are that a leader should have the following qualities and characteristics to be a good leader:

• Communication

• Self-awareness

• Gratitude

• Learning agility

• Influence

• Empathy

• Courage

• Respect

A good teacher leader listens to others and uses their input to collaboratively come up with solutions that put students and learning first. They research new ideas/strategies based on needs and create with their colleagues, and ultimately put their plan in to action.
