At the Elma Night Market, 2020
Marilyn's story-spinning began many years ago when her son was just a little boy. She remembers telling him many funny stories at bedtime, making them up as she went along. The sillier, the better! Tales of talking animals, faraway lands, kings and queens, and quests where little boys were the heroes were all material for her stories. “The King Who Lost His Crown" is one such story, her son’s bedtime favorite, once upon a long time ago, that is, now finally put to print, and yours to enjoy!
I am so thankful to have met so many encouragers along the way, especially the ones who, twenty years later, said, "I always knew you'd do it, Marilyn!" (I'm looking at you - Derek Calverley!)
And to everyone involved, from the illustrators to editors, music production, friends, family, and fellow authors, thank you all for being a part of my journey.
