The Marietta Bible Center Church is an outgrowth of the Christian Layman's League of Marietta, Ohio. MBCC was organized in 1953 by a group of Christians who wanted a Bible believing church free from the apostasy and denominationalism of the day.
After one year of existence, property was purchased at 822 Front Street where the church met for almost twenty years. After several building programs, the congregation outgrew the facilities and moved to the present location on OH-60. We have been operating here since 1973. We praise the Lord for his faithfulness over the years and look forward to many more years of service.
After 73 years, we still hold to the same Biblical truths that the original founding members believed.
We currently support twenty missionaries around the world. Missionaries take the good news of Jesus Christ to those who have never heard.
The Marietta Bible College (est. 1973) is a ministry operating under the auspices of Marietta Bible Center Church. We train men and women for Christian ministry with the help of experienced pastors who volunteer to teach the classes. We currently have over 60 students enrolled from the Philippines, Papua New Guinea and the US. Our students return to their native lands to start independent Baptist churches and evangelize their own communities.
With God helping us, we will continue to preach the living words of the living God "with great plainness of speech" (2 Cor. 3:12). This is the ordinary means by which souls are won and believers "grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour" (2 Pet. 3:18).
It is the desire of all members of this local church to uplift our Lord Jesus Christ in our dealings with each other and in the world in which we live.
