Hello and welcome to my personal webpage!
I am project leader and researcher on the theme of 'Labour Market and Training' at ROA, Research Centre for Education and the Labour Market, Maastricht University, where my research focuses on, a.o., (regional) labour market forecasts.
Previously, I worked for about 1.5 years as a postdoctoral researcher in the Finance department at the School of Business and Economics of Maastricht University. During this time, I started a fieldstudy examining the impact of air quality (interventions) on learning outcomes in secondary schools and the impact of air quality on workplace accidents. I was also actively involved in the Healthy Building Movement, a collaboration between universities, SMEs, and municipalities aimed at enhancing indoor environments and promoting human health, well-being, and performance.
I defended my PhD thesis, entitled Students and Job Seekers under Environmental stressors, at the same university on April 7th 2025. My PhD thesis studies the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on university students and analyses the effects of air pollution on unemployed job seekers. I discuss my studies on air quality in this podcast (in Dutch).
Other interest include the economic challenges and consequences of the ongoing energy transition and climate change on the (regional) labour market.
