Hello and welcome to my personal webpage!

I am a post doctoral researcher in the Finance department at the School of Business and Economics of Maastricht University. My research focuses on the impact of environmental stressors in education and labour market settings.

I defended my PhD thesis, entitled Students and Job Seekers under Environmental stressors, supervised by  Thomas Dohmen and Steffen Künn, at the same university on April 7th 2025. My PhD thesis studies the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on university students and analyses the effects of air pollution on unemployed job seekers. Currently, I am working on a project about the impact of air quality (interventions) on learning outcomes in secondary schools.  I discuss my studies on air quality in this podcast  (in Dutch). 

In addition, I am actively involved in the Healthy Building Movement, a collaboration between universities, SMEs, and municipalities aimed at enhancing indoor environments and promoting human health, well-being, and performance. 

Other interest include the economic challenges and consequences of the ongoing energy transition and climate change on the (regional) labour market.
